"I don't really watch them all that often". "It's my 'season.' It's Macaulay season. It's like background radiation at Christmastime".

Culkin, now 37, appeared on Ellen's show to promote his new Bunny Ears parody lifestyle blog and podcast.

Culkin revealed that he won't watch the classic film anymore, or do "the face" upon request (don't even think of asking, OK?) after years of being hounded in public.

Ellen also asked Culkin about him being continually asked by fans to do the famous Home Alone hands-to-face gasp.

He says he "can't watch it the same way other people do" because he remembers what was happening behind the scene on the set. He said: "I took about a decade off..." He also avoids going outdoors during the Christmas season as he gets recognised too much. "I try and go out less and less that time of year". "It's a curse and a blessing", he said.

"I was exhausted of it, to be honest", he said. "I'm 37 now, okay, mom!".

It's because of this that Culkin has admitted he doesn't go out much during the holidays, as those are prime "Home Alone" times.

During another segment on the show, Ellen showed Culkin a series of photos from throughout his life, with most eliciting a chuckle or a reminiscing about that particular period of time in his life, like when he said he was in a band that modified Velvet Underground songs to be about pizza. "I can't get into any restaurant I want without a reservation, but while I'm there everyone's staring at me".

The former child did 14 movies in about six years, reported People. It's a lot. I needed to grow and develop as a person. When Culkin turned 18, he recalled finally coming into all of his earnings. I was away from school. He said that it allows him to pursue his interests, but that he can treat things more like hobbies instead of having to work hard to put food on the table each day.
