Xiaomi rolls out Redmi Note 5, Note 5 Pro in India

Xiaomi will unveil its Mi TV 4 in India tomorrow, alongside the Redmi Note 5 series, according to a report.

The dual SIM 4G VoLTE phone carries a 4000 mAh battery as well and is priced at Rs 13,999 for the 4GB one and Rs 16,999 for the 6GB variant.

Reproduction of images on the screen and colors are accurate but because of a slightly warmer tone in the display we noticed earlier, some colors looked washed out. The Mi TV 4 was first showcased at CES 2017 and the highlight of this is the ultra-thin frame. The base variant has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage space and the high-end variant has 4GB RAM and 64GB RAM. The key selling points of the device are of course its 18:9 screen and dual camera arrangement on the back side.

The Redmi Note 5 (Flipkart/Xiaomi) is priced at Rs 9999 (3GB/32GB) and Rs 11999 (4GB/64GB). The aperture on this primary lens is F/2.2 and the secondary camera on the front is a 5MP sensor with LED Selfie Light and also supports FullHD video recording. Wi-fi 802.11ac and Bluetooth 4.0 are some additional features of this Electronic Mi TV. Redmi Note 5 Pro features a dual-camera setup at the rear which is a combination of 12-megapixel and 5-megapixel sensors with f/2.2 and f/2.0 apertures respectively. Xiaomi is making India launch the debut of the smartphone globally as it hasn't launched the Redmi Note 5 in any other region, not even in China.

The Mi TV 4 is now the premium smart TV available from Xiaomi today and is available in various size (going up to 65 inches) and form factors in the company's home market of China. The smart TV is powered by a 64-bit quad-core Amlogic Cortex-A53 SoC clocked up to 1.8 GHz paired with Mali-T830 GPU.

Mi TV 4 will be exclusively available on Flipkart for the price of 39,999 INR.

The updates to the front camera are particularly compelling as Indians are quite selfie obsessed and in this age of Instagram stories, it is a feature that comes in handy.

MI TV is the Xiaomi's 4th edition of smart TV. Xiaomi has also announced an AI Camera feature that separates the foreground and background in a much better way.

Xiaomi Mi TV 4 runs on the company's custom PatchWall TV OS, which is built on Android.
