Sridevi was keeping it very interesting. We weren't from a film background but it happened and she stood by me, fought for me and made sure I am happy. According to reports, the body will be brought by her family members from Dubai as they shall depart around 8 pm and reach Mumbai by 2-3 am.

"Sridevi is one of the last great heroines of Hindi cinema who could hold her own against any hero, said Rachel Dwyer, Professor of Indian Cultures and Cinema at the SOAS University of London".

"When I met her for the first time, it was like a dream coming true".

"My memories of Sridevi are built through my journey from being a fan girl to an actor and then my role as a politician..." She knew her mind and in spite of facing various challenges throughout her life, she lived with dignity. "We'll miss her", actor Kamal Haasan wrote.

The entire Bollywood industry and political dignitaries outpoured their shock and grief upon the sudden demise of the Bollywood's first female superstar.

It is natural for the viewers to wait for her next film. She was a known face in South Indian films before her entry into Bollywood. Sridevi quit films in 1997 at the peak of her career because she had given birth to Jhanvi and wanted to raise her without any work schedule pressure. Condolences to everyone who loved #Sridevi. "It is unfortunate that Sridevi, who was still active in the film industry, died at a young age", he said in an official release.

Former Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya and Telangana BJP president K Laxman also expressed their condolences.

The actor made it big in Indian movies after her 1982 Tamil film "Moondram Pirai", playing the same role in its Hindi remake, "Sadma".

She featured over five decades in nearly 300 films, in classics like Mr India, Chandni, ChaalBaaz and Sadma. She was supposed to star opposite Anil Kapoor in the film but declined the offer because she had already done a string of films with the actor.

The Padma Shri recipient, who made a comeback to Bollywood in 2012 with "English Vinglish" after a long break of 15 years, was last seen in "Mom" in 2017. "You see what went wrong and try not to do the same mistake", she had said.

Chandni- This film came as a turning point in Sridevi's career. The character Juhi played was new for her and so it was good for her.
