Twins born in different years, only minutes apart

Kern County Twins Born in Different Years as First Babies of 2018 Arrive

Twins born just 20 minutes apart will not share birthday, birth month, or even a birth year

Delano Regional Medical Center officials told CBS affiliate Bakersfield now, that a set of twins were born at the end of 2017 and the start of 2018. She was a little smaller at 4 pounds, 10 ounces and 16 inches long and was delivered by caesarean section, KERO reported.

The Delano's Hospital said Joaquin was the county's last baby of 2017 and Aitana was the first of 2018.

Their parents say the babies came about a month early with the due date being in late January. Neither day, nor month, and not the year either, for sure! Her daughter, Aitana, was born 16 minutes into 2018.

Anyone who's a younger twin can understand the frustration of being born only a few minutes after their sibling, with the elder of two lording over the fact for their whole lives.

Maria Flores was originally due to give birth on January 27, but her bundles of joy chose to make an early arrival. However, at 7 p.m. EST on New Year's Eve, their mother Maria went into premature labor.

According to the Daily Mail, which also picked up on the Delano twins, there were four of them in the US past year.

However, when Joaquin was delivered at 11.58pm on December 31, she and her husband Joaquin suspected that there was a possibility that their twins would be celebrating separate birthdays.
