Trump to announce 'fake news' awards

039;Daily Show' launches ad campaign for Trump's 'Dishonest & Corrupt Media Awards'

Trump says he's delaying 'Fake News Awards' until mid-January

"I will be announcing THE MOST DISHONEST & CORRUPT MEDIA AWARDS OF THE YEAR on Monday at 5:00 o'clock".

The White House hasn't given much indication if the awards will actually happen.

"Personally, I'm excited for the most Dishonest and Corrupt Media Awards of the year", he said.

Last November Donald Trump in a tweet talked about a competition called "Fake News Trophy" among the news channels.

Trevor Noah's "Daily Show" also has a for-your-consideration graphic on its Twitter feed.

"After provoking North Korea and then insulting Palestine, the president turned to America's greatest foe: the fake-news media", Noah said of Trump's announcement.

Trump has fired back against author Michael Wolff and Bannon, calling Wolff a "total loser", and referring to Bannon as "Sloppy Steve".

"And I think I've wasted enough of my viewers' time".

During his tenure as President, Mr Trump has repeatedly claimed the media has been unfair to him.

Mr Trump's awards have been met with widespread mirth with USA talk show hosts offering themselves up for consideration for the awards.

CBS' "Late Night" host Stephen Colbert threw his hat in the ring for Trump's awards by putting a giant "for your consideration" billboard in Times Square, CBS News reported.

A United States television show has *submitted* its nomination for Donald Trump's "Dishonest And Corrupt Media Awards" with a hilarious fake advert campaign.

The Daily Show with Trevor Noah placed a full-page advert in the New York Times on Friday featuring quotes from negative reviews created to appeal to Trump.

It is unclear how Mr Trump's awards will be judged.
