Peterbilt Motors Company solidifies its position as an industry technology leader with its display at the 2018 Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas NV.

The Consumer Technology Association, which runs CES, tweeted that it was an "isolated power outage".

THE WORLD'S largest technology show ground to a halt for more than two hours today when a blackout plunged some of its biggest showpieces into darkness, causing evacuations, huge queues, and mass frustration.

The Las Vegas Convention Center, where CES is taking place, is now experiencing what event organizers are calling an "isolated power outage".

CES said in a statement that the outage was caused by "condensation from heavy rainfall" that sparked a flashover on one of the building's transformers. Power in the South Hall was restored within minutes, and power has now been fully restored to all areas. Expect to see plenty of new smart home devices with inbuilt Alexa capabilities, while competitor Google is also expected to make some announcements around its own Google Assistant.

TV maker LG's OLED Canyon display demo, with 246 OLED panels and more than 30 high-definition generators, took almost an hour to get back in full operation.

"We're going quickly to self-driving cars and artificial intelligence, the internet-Of-Things, and things that weren't even in our vocabulary 10 years ago and now they're major parts of CES", he said. CES is the biggest tradeshow of its type in the world - an annual showcase of the next generation of technology and devices.
