Pro Wrestling Sheet has confirmed WWE officials informed Paige that she will not be cleared to return to a WWE ring again following her most recent injury. So if she really is "done" with wrestling, then they must have determined she's too injured to continue her in-ring career.
Paige-real name Saraya-Jade Bevis-is only 25 and WWE apparently sees potential for her outside the ring. If true, this would mean she is now "done" as an in-ring performer. She was believed to have suffered a stinger, or a nerve pinch injury, and was pulled from in-ring action for what was originally believed to be a timetable of a few weeks. Initially, it seemed like the injury Paige suffered at a WWE live event in Uniondale in late December was merely minor.
Paige will have to be written off of the 2018 Royal Rumble.
She had been slated to take part in WWE's first ever women's Royal Rumble match later this month, but has obviously been pulled from the show. She will be replaced in the match and all signs are that she will relegated to a non-physical role for the company going forward.
2016 into 2017 was an explosive year for Paige that saw her undergo neck surgery, be hit with a pair of WWE Wellness Policy suspensions, undergo the embarrassment of personal and explicit videos being leaked and of course, her public and tumultuous relationship with Alberto el Patron. She has already been featured on the Total Divas reality series and may have a future in films with WWE Studios or as an NXT coach, Johnson reports.
She'll most certainly be involved in the promotion of WWE Studios' upcoming Fighting With My Family film which The Rock is producing, since that film is based on a British documentary about Paige's family.
