The Obi-Wan Kenobi spinoff has not been officially announced by Lucasfilm.

Ewan McGregor had a great night last night at the Golden Globes, scoring an award for Best Actor in a Mini-Series or Motion Picture for TV for his role in Fargo.

McGregor was seen at last night's Golden Globes, sporting a very Kenobi-ish beard. But I don't know any more about it than you do.

And now fitness trainer Tony Horton has provided another interesting nugget for us to all mull over - potentially alluding to something exciting involving Ewan McGregor, a.k.a. Jedi LAD Obi-Wan Kenobi. He said that he's heard the rumors, but there's been nothing with him beyond the talk.

"There's a lot of talk, and I'd be happy to play him again, but I don't know anything more than you do."
"There's no plan at the moment".

That would leave the roughly 20 years between the events of Episode III and the original "Star Wars: A New Hope" to explore.

The huge success of The Last Jedi, Rogue One and The Force Awakens has introduced the sci-fi epic to a new generation of fans. He told The Hollywood Reporter, "I saw the new one over Christmas and I thought it was really, really lovely".

As an Obi-Wan movie moves toward production, McGregor's name will no doubt continue to be front and center in any conversation about casting. The Gareth Edwards-directed Rogue One underwent reported massive reshoots and even story-rewrites, while past year Solo: A Star Wars Anthology experienced a major shake-up when original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were fired three weeks before principal photography was scheduled to conclude, prior to director Ron Howard stepping in.
