Zuckerberg's 2018 resolution is more professional than personal: Make Facebook great again

This year's goal still won't be easy to gauge for progress, but it will certainly be much more doable than all of Zuckerberg's other challenges.

You might be thinking: Well isn't fixing a company's issues already the job of the CEO? His firm does crisis management for major technology companies.

2012 - Write code every day.

From the dissemination of fake news and harmful content, to enabling discrimination of ethnic groups using advertising targeting, there are certainly a lot of improvements to be made. He wants to sudy both and how they can be used to counter trends of centralized government power and use them in Facebook services. Mark Zuckerberg cryptocurrency interest seems to be a step towards decentralization of power into people's hands from centralized systems.

Zuckerberg said he will also explore "decentralizing" technologies such as encryption and cryptocurrency, but he claimed that these technologies also "come with the risk of being harder to control". With over 2 billion monthly users, Facebook's potential integration of the technology could give the crypto market another big boost. He even points out the growing distrust of major tech companies and the huge power companies like Facebook have gained. This year, his challenge comes from a place of honest desire to change the way Facebook works.

This is an important point for Zuckerberg to acknowledge. I've visited every USA state, run 365 miles, built an AI for my home, read 25 books, and learned Mandarin.

"Let's ask: Why is Facebook promoting a comment box and Like button in the first place?", Harris said in a Wired interview last July. Past challenges have included wearing a tie every day, learning to speak Mandarin and eating meat only from animals he killed himself.

For this year, the 33-year-old, one of the richest people in the world, said in a post on his personal Facebook page, according to Reuters and the BBC, "people feel stressed and torn, Facebook has a lot of work to do ".

Mark Zuckberg's personal challenge for 2018 is to fix the very company he created.

"These issues address inquiries of history, civics, political logic, media, government, and obviously innovation". Many experts have already predicted that Blockchain, which is a decentralized technology is going to dominate the future market.

Zuckerberg acknowledged that many people's opinion on the power of technology had changed.
