Those still hoping to see John Cena turn heel will nearly see their wish come true in 2018.
The actor and WWE superstar has signed on for three projects at the kids' channel, including voicing a role in the new 2D animated series Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. The 16-time WWE Champion will also host the Kids' Choice Awards once again and serve as an executive producer on Keep It Spotless, a new Nick game show. He also is executive producing Keep It Spotless, a new competition series in which teams of kids go head-to-head in a battle to stay clean.
The 40-year-old star believes that there is not much difference between hosting the Nickelodeon Kids' Choice Awards and stepping into the wrestling ring, reported Variety. "Kids just love him, which makes him the flawless partner for these upcoming projects", said Cyma Zarghami, President, Nickelodeon Group.
No word on whether Cena will be shown in front of the camera on his gameshow. It will air worldwide on Nickelodeon channels in more than 170 countries and territories. Additional Kids' Choice Awards news, including categories and presenters, will be announced in the coming weeks. It will be a new version of the main villain of 'Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles'.
Cena joins an already impressive cast on the series that includes Ben Schwartz (DuckTales), Omar Miller (Ballers), Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Brandon Mychal Smith (You're The Worst) and Kat Graham (The Vampire Diaries)-who will lend her voice to the first African-American portrayal of April O'Neil. The winning team will face The Gauntlet, a multiple-challenge obstacle course where they can turn their cleanliness into cash.
