Franco said in his speech that 19 years ago Wiseau "was stuck in traffic from the Golden Globes".
On the other hand, The Disaster Artist - James Franco's well-received making-of film about The Room - was indeed nominated for Golden Globes for both Best Picture (musical or comedy) and Best Actor for Franco's performance- an award for which Franco won the Golden Globe. With the music playing, he exited stage right along with the brothers Franco. Watch the wild moment, below!
Franco, the son of parents who met while attending Stanford University, is a 1996 graduate of Palo Alto High School, where he got his acting start by appearing in school stage plays. Franco takes on the role of the eccentric director/star/producer Tommy Wiseau, who imagined the original film's lead to be the ultimate tortured manly man man protagonist in the vein of Marlon Brando's roles in his early years.
Franco also talked about longing to be a Coen brother as a kid, and thanked Dave for being his "very own Franco brother".
Franco had promised to bring Tommy Wiseau to the Golden Globes after being nominated for The Disaster Artist, and that's what he did at the awards night. "He said to his best friend Greg [Sestero, who starred in The Room], 'So what?"
James plays Tommy in the film, and during his speech, the actor took a moment to explain how The Room is tied to the Golden Globes.
Now the nude scenes from The Disaster Artist have hit the web, and they are far from a disaster!
