The fire is believed to have started around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday in a furniture store in a four-story building, CBS New York reports.

The latest blaze came less than a week after another fire in the Bronx killed 12 people.

It was also reported that at least 150 firefighters were battling the fire.

"Our units arrived and were immediately faced with heavy fire".

Another resident escaped with her two children and their dog.

That blaze started after a three-year-old boy was playing with a stove.

"They've all been transported, and they will all be ok, thankfully", he said, noting there were at least nine children among the injured.
