Russia Calls US Threat to Destroy N.Korea a 'Bloodthirsty Tirade'

The North Korean regime launched an Intercontinental Ballistic Missile (ICBM) on Wednesday with Kim Jong-un declaring they had "finally realised the great historic cause of completing the state nuclear force".

The call was rejected by Russian Federation on Thursday as it accused Washington of provoking Pyongyang into stepping up its nuclear missile programme.

The US ambassador to the UN Security Council Nikki Haley said the North Korean regime would be "utterly destroyed" if war comes.

While saying "our hopes are that China will show leadership and follow through", Ms Haley also issued a warning: "China can do this on its own, or we can take the oil situation into our own hands". "The Chinese envoy, who just returned from North Korea, seems to have had no impact on Little Rocket Man", Mr Trump said.

"Hard to believe his people, and the military, put up with living in such frightful conditions". United States experts maintain that China could collapse North Korea's regime in a heartbeat, but it refuses to do so because it would counter Beijing's national interests.

"We regard this negatively", Lavrov said.

Russian Federation on Wednesday condemned the latest missile launch by North Korea, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said. "We were hopeful about the approach, but then they stage [an] unscheduled exercise in October, then in November, and now they have declared they will have [a] large-scale unscheduled exercise in December".

Mr Trump has been trying to apply more pressure on the hermit kingdom and re-designated them a state sponsor of terrorism, meaning the USA can enforce even more sanctions on Kim Jong-un's regime.

The air forces of the US and South Korea are scheduled to hold a regular joint drill early this month with six US F-22 Raptor stealth fighters taking part.

Calling for new talks with North Korea, Lavrov added: "We have already emphasised... that the squeeze of sanctions has essentially come to an end, and that those resolutions which introduced the sanctions should have included a requirement to renew the political process, a requirement to renew talks. They asked, the requested us, they spoke of the possibility of Russian Federation taking part in any settlement of the [Korean] issue", the lawmaker told TASS.

Lavrov said Haley's call for the world to isolate North Korea was wrong.

"Our diplomats will speak from a position of strength because we do have military options", he said.
