Netflix Renews Stranger Things For Third Season

Netflix confirmed on Friday (December 1) that a third season of Stranger Things is officially happening.

When Netflix renewed the show for season 2, the announcement came with a return date and the episode count. Stranger Things stars Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Caleb McLaughlin, Gaten Matarazzo, Noah Schnapp, Joe Keery, Natalia Dyer and Cara Buono.

"Stranger Things" is coming back for a Season 3.

The news won't exactly blow anyone's minds, considering that the show has become a certified pop culture phenomenon that has elevated itself and the aggregate of the streaming giant's original content lineup into the stratosphere. We didn't want to box ourselves in for season three. Her nickname is Eight, like Jane's is Eleven, and the Duffer brothers told E! there are more siblings out there who we don't know about.

According to the report, fans should not expect the same formula for Season 3 as the creators shared that there will be some time jump due to the nature of the young cast. But it's still great to have the next season set in stone, even if we know very little about where it's headed. I would love for the show to turn into sort an anthology show with multiple seasons for each presented story.

So that means we have two more seasons to figure out what the fuck is going on in the Upside Down, how much heartache Joyce can actually take and see if justice is served for Barb and Bob (RIP).

The supernatural 80s-themed series has been the site's biggest franchise, raking in a total of 18 Emmy nominations and taking home five.
