Crews explained in a series of tweets in October that he had been groped by a Hollywood boss - in front of his wife - while at an event as recently as past year, although he refused to name to exec.
"I thought twice about how the whole thing would appear".
On Oct. 10, Crews took to Twitter and said "a high-level Hollywood executive. groped my privates" at an event. My wife saw everything n we looked at him like he was insane. Crews came forward to tell his story, saying that a powerful person in Hollywood had grabbed his crotch and then "grinned like a jerk".
Venit is a WME agent that represents celebrities such as Adam Sandler, Diane Keaton, Eddie Murphy, Kevin James, Rob Lowe, Russell Brand, Shawn Levy, Steve Martin, Sylvester Stallone and Vince Vaughn.
TMZ reports that Crews filed a formal complaint on Wednesday against the Hollywood executive, even though he hasn't publicly named the accused. Investigation into the claims is undergoing, after Venit had been identified as the alleged groper by Variety.
Crews - who is married to actress Rebecca King-Crews - made his allegation public last month, detailing his experience in a series of Twitter posts. And that the executive called him the next day to apologise, but never explained his reason for the assault. Crews said he kept silent because he didn't want to be ostracized in Hollywood due to the executive's power and influence.
"Who's going 2 believe you?" he added. "And I understand why many women who this happens to let it go".
"Hollywood is not the only business [where] this happens, and to the casualties of this behavior - you are not alone", Crews wrote.
