The offensive talent of the Steelers in recent year has never been in doubt.
Pittsburgh is hoping to look past injuries that would usually worry them and take advantage of a beat up Packers team.
This season opened with the usual expectations around the Steelers offence, but they've taken some time to get going. They're allowing 26.0 points on the road, while also allowing 340.1 yards per game.
There have been murmurings about QB Ben Roethlisberger's hunger for the game and long-term future. Pittsburgh also features the NFL's leading rusher in Le'Veon Bell, who has racked up 886 yards despite being limited to 46 versus the Titans. Case in point, the Packers have averaged only 10.2 points per game in the five games since Hundley has been under center.
Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger is coming off his best game of the season in a 40-17 rout of Tennessee on November 16, helping to quiet talk that he doesn't care about the game as much. Linebacker Vince Williams has six sacks, while rookie TJ Watt, younger brother of JJ, has four.
PICK CITY: Hundley had an terrible game last week in a 23-0 loss to the Baltimore Ravens, throwing three interceptions and losing a fumble after getting sacked. So far this season, Hundley has thrown only two touchdowns to go along with his seven interceptions. Clark has been especially good against the run, coupling with fellow lineman Mike Daniels to give the Packers a stout presence up front. "We've got to get a grip of it real quick here". Should the Steelers slip up in either of these games, their December 17 matchup against the Patriots matters less in terms of seeding. As for the Packers, they were shut out last week at home by the Ravens, whose defense is on par with the Steelers' D. Brett Hundley can't move this Green Bay offense and the Packers have been exposed for a below-average team without superstar Aaron Rodgers.
That's a fall from grace that even free beer can't make feel better. Can Green Bay turn around its season?
The line has been set accordingly, with the Steelers -14 on the Handicap market at [2.04].
The Total Points line has fluctuated throughout the week. Although Hundley completed over 65% of his passes in his last three games combined, Green Bay's passing attack mostly consisted of dump-off passes.
For a speculative touchdown scorer punt, I think Eli Rogers is an interesting option in both Anytime and First Touchdown Scorer markets on the Sportsbook at 11/5 and 14/1 in each market. If there was a red flag for this offense outside of random lethargy, it would be having to sit JuJu and play Martavis Bryant.
