NFL Player Reveals He Played Hours After Experiencing Family Tragedy

He wrote that he and his wife, Morgan, lost their baby on Sunday morning, around 4 a.m. due to complications. The baby was born premature and died early Sunday morning after complications, KTVU reported. He added that he was "grateful for the experience and grateful that God blessed me with a wife as courageous and resilient as Morgan".

And when Goodwin scored the TD, he gripped the football tight, looked up to the sky and emotionally broke down in the end zone in this heartbreaking moment.

The 49ers earned their first win of 2017 on Sunday, defeating the Giants, 31-21.

According to Matt Maiocco of NBC Sports, he left Levi's Stadium immediately after the game had finished, but the wideout revealed on his Instagram why he was so emotional after his touchdown, and unfortunately, it's for a very sad reason.

This wasn't the only big play Goodwin had in the game, as he also produced a big block on tight end Garrett Celek's 47-yard touchdown. "Please Pray for the Goodwin family", Goodwin wrote. Morgan Goodwin, nee Snow, is an accomplished athlete in her own right; at the University of Texas, where the two met, was a nine-time All-American hurdler and sprinter, and was the 2012 World Junior Champion in the 100 meter hurdles.

In September, the couple announced their pregnancy by posting an Instagram photo of them holding an ultrasound picture as they kissed in the background. "He had a wonderful game today".

I appreciate everyone who kept us in their prayers and constantly checked in on us. This was truly an awesome experience and it was also a tragic experience.
