Monolith Soft Talks About What's Next After Xenoblade Chronicles 2

Xenoblade 2 expansion

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 will have dual audio at launch, pre-load live today

In Xenoblade Chronicles 2, Blades are artificial lifeforms that bond with Drivers to lend them their weapons and powers in battle. Abilities differ from Blade to Blade, so selecting different Blades adds to the strategy of battle. Blades can even help outside of battle by gaining the party access to new areas if they have the needed skills. We've enjoyed this collaboration with Nintendo so far. You can also form Mercenary Groups of Blades, which can set out on their own and return with experience and items.

Xenoblade Chronicles 2 launches December 1.

Nintendo recently held a Nintendo Direct presentation that was focused entirely on the game, giving lots of new details on the game. "Details about individual elements of the Expansion Pass will be released in the future", Nintendo wrote in a recent press release.

Nintendo also announced they'll be using the popular The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild to promote Xenoblade Chronicles 2. The DLC aims to familiarize players with Rex, the main character in Xenoblade Chronicles 2. However, a free day-one download will give you the Japanese voice track if you want it.

The release of the Nintendo Switch-exclusive Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is on the horizon, bringing the critically-acclaimed series to Nintendo's newest console for the first time. Probably not, unless that silly Nintendo Switch T-shirt you get for buying Breath of the Wild's season pass is supposed to be canon, too. But not the expansion pass or the Pro Controller. Pre-orders through retail will be made available shortly.

A Special Edition for Xenoblade Chronicles 2 includes a 220-page hardbound art book, metal game case, and soundtrack CD for $99.99.
