Jimmy Fallon's Mother Dies Day After 'Tonight Show' Taping Canceled

Jimmy Fallon's mother, Gloria, passed away Saturday, ABC News has confirmed.

The decision comes following the passing of Jimmy Fallon's mother Gloria. The host previously canceled his Friday taping to be with Gloria at NYU Langone Medical Center in NYC. "Our prayers go out to Jimmy and his family as they go through this tough time", it read.

A source revealed to PEOPLE then that Gloria was sick and that Fallon, 43, had gone to the hospital to be by her side.

NBC aired a repeat of the show from September instead. Before that, he was on "SNL" for six years, appeared in several movies including "Fever Pitch", and hosted "Late Night with Jimmy Fallon" on NBC.

In a 2004 NY magazine article, Fallon described his happy childhood with mom Gloria, dad Jim and sister Gloria. The school used the money for its television studio and computer video production courses, along with new music equipment, cameras, computers and software.
