Congress Vice President Rahul Gandhi Campaigns In Gujarat

Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi on Thursday asked why should the people of Gujarat pay for the BJP government's Financial mismanagement and publicity. He had also mentioned the name of veteran Congress leader Ahmed Patel, who went to the temple along with the Gandhi scion.

Posing to PM Modi the second in the series of questions to be raised by him in run-up to the Gujarat polls, Rahul, in his Tweet, said, 'Taking an account of 22 years.

Amid reports that his rallies across Gujarat have been attracting fewer than usual crowds, with empty seats becoming a hitherto unthinkable fixture at his public meetings, Modi has perhaps chose to return to the basics while appealing to his followers to once again bring the BJP to power in Gujarat - a state that the saffron party has ruled for 22 consecutive years.

He said on one side there are Gujaratis who are walking the path shown by Mahatma Gandhi, a "fakir" (an ascetic), and on the other, "there are descendants of another Gandhi, who belong to a royal family".

At his first two pit stops, Modi attacked two Congress-era Prime Ministers - Jawaharlal Nehru and his daughter Indira Gandhi - for what he said was neglecting and looking down on Gujarat. He also raked up the Rafale deal and sought to know if due procedures were followed before formalising the deal with France a year ago for procuring the fighter jets. "Don't know why his lips get sealed on the questions regarding Shah-zada (son of (Amit) Shah) and Rafale". "(Gujarat demands answers for 22 years of BJP)".

Hardik Patel interacted mainly with farmers and locals in Morbi, where he attacked the BJP for being insensitive towards the woes of farmers and small traders.

Making a fresh bid for power in his home state, where the BJP has ruled for over two decades, Modi also listed various development works by the government on water conservation, agriculture and development of the Saurashtra region. But an unfazed prime minister still maintains that he is fighting black money, says Rahul Gandhi. The Congress hit back, calling it a diversion from real issues. I want to tell them (that) due to our efforts the corrupt are languishing in jail. "We have killed all the terrorists within three months of the incident", the Prime Minister said. Now, Modi is your target. Parliament is meeting soon and we are going to bring that issue on the floor of the House again, Modi said. They have the legacy of royalty.
