1 dead, 2 hurt in shooting at Chicago Starbucks

The shooter and the slain man were apparently involved in a transaction at Wilson Avenue and Broadway, after which the victim ran into a Starbucks.

The Chicago Tribune reported that two people were killed three were injured in shootings across Chicago, including the Starbucks incident. "The manager of the bar, the bartender, opened the door and said 'Everybody get the heck inside.' And we got inside". Buslik said there is not considered to be a wider danger to the public.

The shots were fired in the city's uptown neighbourhood on North Broadway. "It was very loud, rapid succession". A second man sustained a gunshot wound to the body; police say he self-transported to Weiss Hospital, police said.

In the most recent homicide, a 29-year-old man was found shot in a auto in the Far South Side's Roseland neighborhood just about 10:05 p.m., police said. He was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead, police said. The 24-year-old man and Watkins are documented gang members who have had "prior history with police". The boy has been taken to Lurie Children's Hospital, where his condition has improved from critical condition to being stabilized. The 24-year-old was shot in the abdomen.

Starbucks released a statement late Thursday night, saying in part: "We were saddened to learn of the passing of a young man and the injury of two others as a result of gun violence at our store". The suspect is still at large.
