A police spokesman in a statement issued here said that terrorists barged inside a house in Seer Jagir Tral and fired at the women present there. The injured woman was shifted to a hospital and the area was cordoned off by security forces to nab the culprits.
He added that a CRPF jawan was injured in the grenade attack.
Police said the militants belonged to terror outfit Jaish-e-Mohammad.
As the forces were searching the area, the militants opened fire, resulting in a gunfight in which one militant was killed. The security guards also retaliated with firing. Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Shopian AS Dinkar said no damage was caused due to the "mysterious blast".
In a separate incident, a militant was killed in an encounter by a joint team of the police and army in north Kashmir's Handwara. CRPF officer Ali Mohammad was injured and had to be hospitalised.
According to reports, at around 10 pm gunmen barged into house of Ghulam Ahmed Bhat, working as Assistant Sub-Inspector and "vandalised" his residence.
Terrorists also lobbed a grenade on the house of another PDP leader Aijaz Mir in Zainapora area of the Shopian district on Thursday. "Our family members fled from the house", said a family member of police official.
