A man dressed as Santa Claus opened fire during a Halloween party in Texas injuring four people police said

In Central Austin, Texas three people were shot and wounded after a man dressed as Santa Claus opened fire on visitors to Halloween parties.

Four people were injured - three of whom have "pretty serious" injuries, Knouse said.

Knouse said the victims knew the suspect and the shooting was not a random act of violence. Two of the victims, a male and female both in their 30s, had critical, life-threatening injuries.

Police say the suspect was dressed as Santa Clause and is believed to be a known suspect.

Austin Travis County EMS said they responded to the 5500 block of Avenue F just after 6:30 a.m.

The fourth victim refused emergency medical services, Knouse said. He was taken into custody without incident, Austin Police Department Det.

The suspect, who had not been identified as of this writing, also received medical treatment for unspecified injuries.

Charges are pending against the suspect in this case, and the investigation is ongoing.
