PM to inaugurate projects in Ghogha, Dahej and Vadodara

PM Narendra Modi to visit Kedarnath temple today

PM Modi will visit poll-bound Gujarat again on October 22 to inaugurate several projects

Immediately thereafter, the Congress had alleged that the government put "pressure" on the poll panel to "delay" the announcement of Gujarat elections to enable the prime minister to act as a "false santa claus" and offer sops and use "jumlas" (rhetoric). "Over the last three years we have changed that and given importance to the development of Gujarat". "Its a dream come true for people of Gujarat", he said. I am also here with regard to a project in dairy sector, a sector to which we have given enormous importance over the last two decades.

Prime Minister Modi also urged the people to explore opportunities in animal husbandry. The ferry service can accommodate nearly 1000 passengers and 150 vehicles at the same time will cover the 8-10 hours long journey by road from Saurashtra to South Gujarat in just 30 minutes via the Gulf of Bay. The ferry will reportedly ply the Gulf of Khambhat between peninsular Saurashtra and South Gujarat.

This passenger movement service will reduce the distance between the Ghogha and Dahej from 310 km by road to just 30 km, which can be covered in one hour.

"Gujarat is blessed with a long coastline and we should harness opportunities arising due to this". It is the State's role to provide basic infrastructure for development", Modi said adding, "I have been hearing about this project since my childhood.

Modi also stated that once successful, similar ferry services will be carried out to connect other coastal towns of Hazira in Surat, Pipavav, Jafrabad, Daman & Diu besides connecting with Mumbai. We have changed that in the last three years. The goal is to make our transport sector integrated and state-of-the-art. Two city transport hubs, a multi-level parking and a waste converting energy plant will be brought into reality by PM Modi today in Vadodara.

During PM Modi's trip to Gujarat, he will also dedicate to the nation the Vadodara City Command Control Centre, the Waghodiya Regional Water Supply Scheme, and the New Head Office Building of the Bank of Baroda.

The Prime Minister will hand over keys of houses to beneficiaries under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana (Urban, as well as Rural). The foundation stone for the current works was laid by Modi as the chief minister in 2012.

Later in the day, PM Modi will travel to Vadodara to address a public rally at the sprawling Navlakhi Grounds and will inaugurate 8 different projects worth Rs 1,140 Cr.
