Plane carrying OKC Thunder dented by bird while landing at Midway

The plane carrying National Basketball Association stars of the Oklahoma City Thunder was damaged mid-air, when the nose of the plane was caved in Friday night. No injuries were reported.

The Thunder use Delta charter planes and commonly leave cities directly after games. She said the Boeing 757-200 landed safely at Midway. "Safety is Delta's top priority".

Several players posted photos on social media, both thankful that the team was safe and curious as to what could have hit the plane.

Those on the plane say they heard a bang while at 30,000 feet before experiencing a sudden drop at that level.

The new star of the team, Carmelo Anthony, has assured him that everyone had arrived in good health.

Oklahoma City Thunder endured an unorthodox journey after their defeat by Minnesota Timberwolves on Friday night, as their Delta flight is left dented after reportedly striking a bird.

"Flying to chicago", he wrote - appealing to NASA, astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson, and science presenter Bill Nye to solve the mystery of what could have caused the huge dent.

A team official said the flight was "a little rough, but not extreme or out of the ordinary", according to ESPN.

The Thunder play the Bulls at 8 p.m. ET on Saturday.
