Multiple fires ravaged Napa and Sonoma counties on Monday, forcing widespread evacuations across wine country and burning tens of thousands of acres. Major structures and businesses damaged or destroyed include the Hilton Sonoma Wine Country and Luther Burbank Center for the Arts in Santa Rosa, and the Silverado Country Club in Napa. Mandatory evacuations are in effect in several areas and almost 20 shelters have opened from Cloverdale to Petaluma and from Guerneville to Sonoma.

The fire leveled entire blocks in the Fountaingrove area of Santa Rosa, where three-story homes were burning along Thomas Lake Harris Drive.

If O'Gorman hadn't been coming home from work to wake her family, "we would have been in the house trapped", she said. Much of a mobile home park behind the Kaiser facility burned, CNN affiliate KPIX said.

The "Atlas" fire, meanwhile, had burned through an additional 25,000 acres in the hills above Napa County.

Upwards of 300 firefighters are battling blazes in Napa County.

"That's when we said, 'It's time to go, '" Regan said. Evacuation orders have been issued for about five miles of roads surrounding the blaze, which began as a vegetation fire around 9:20 p.m. on Sunday. "The causes will be under investigating, for sure".

Sonoma County: Two evacuation centers are open in the city of Sebastopol at the Sebastopol Community Cultural Center 390 Morris Street and another at the Veterans' Memorial Building at 282 South High Street.
