Nokia 8 won't make it stateside after all, HMD confirms

The Best Nokia Android Phones – Nokia Offering Value At Every Price Point

OnLeaks posts renders of the Nokia 9, showing off curved glass and no headphone jack

HMD will be making the Nokia 8 available in India from Saturday.

HMD Global, the owner of the Nokia brand, has been rumoured to be launching a second flagship device before the year is out. The Nokia 9 is in the pipeline for a future release.

The exact date of announcement of Nokia 9 is not yet established, and, according to the latest rumors, it can show and do in January 2018, but not the point: the smartphone is guaranteed to be frameless, plus the photo shows that the headphone connector had not. The Nokia 9 is also expected to come with all the other usual Nokia features, like OZO audio and microphones for active noise cancellation. While we have seen multiple leaked images of the Nokia 2, not much Nokia 9 imagery has surfaced until now as OnLeaks took to Twitter on Wednesday to post renders of the device, providing us a better view of how the phone may finally look like. However, one thing that might disappoint the fan is the fact that, the OEM is going to ditch the 3.5 mm headphone jack in favour of USB type C port.

The Nokia 8 has a full-metal exterior, a QHD display and is powered by the Snapdragon 835 octa-core processor. There's no existence of the headphone jack in the renders of the Nokia 9.

Other likely specs include 6GB or 8GB of RAM with 128GB of default storage, and an iris scanner. Rumours suggest that the Nokia 9 will run Android 7.1.1 Nougat out-of-the-box and will get updated to Android 8.0 Oreo soon. That means they're all very polished devices, and Nokia's also made sure to create a model at virtually every price point, meaning there really is something for everyone, whatever your budget. This - Nokia 2 - is expected to be the cheapest Android phone by the company until date - cheaper than Nokia 3.
