Katy Perry got stuck mid-air at a Nashville concert

Katy Perry got stuck in mid-air after a floating platform malfunctioned on her world tour. The concert took place on Wednesday (October 18) in Nashville, Tenn.

Katy brings the "Witness" tour to the United Kingdom in June next year when she plays dates in London, Birmingham, Sheffield, Liverpool, Manchester, Glasgow and Newcastle. "I know I'm kind of a space cadet, but actually, this thing is stuck".

For his latest gig, the country singer has joined Katy Perry and Lionel Richie on the judging panel of the rebooted talent show.

Perry then complimented the audience and told them this was a "YouTube moment". I could be stuck here forever! "I'm going to be stuck here forever", she said. I'm coming down, I swear it was lovely, you guys made it look s magnificent.

The technical difficulty, captured on video by no doubt hundreds of audience members, lasted for several painfully awkward minutes as Katy sat on a miniature stage created to look like a planet.

"I guess I'm just going to have to get down and walk amongst my people", she told the crowd. I love this so much.

The singer had just finished performing "Thinking of You", at which point she was supposed to descend back to the stage of the Bridgestone Arena.

"It's stressful because you have to be... you have to critique in a short period of time and you don't want to get it wrong... you don't want to be the idiot that said no to the next Kelly Clarkson or Carrie Underwood", the 41-year-old mused.
