Gauri was a student at Trinity Lyceum school at Thanagassery in Kollam, and was allegedly chided by her teachers after she had a fight with her sister's classmate, reported TheNewsMinute.
A 15-year-old student, who jumped from the building of her school on Friday, succumbed to her injuries on Monday at a private hospital in Thiruvananthapuram, as per media reports. She has been identified as Gauri Neha of Ramankulangara in Kollam.
The victim and her sister were mocked by their friends and they got into a verbal spat, leading the teachers to punish the girls. Her father told police that his daughter took the extreme step after her teachers scolded her. Gauri's sister was rebuked by a teacher for speaking with other students during class and was made to sit with boys as part of "disciplinary action".
The girl jumped from the school building soon after lunch break. Later, she was transferred to a specialty hospital in Thiruvananthapuram.
