There was a report shortly after the end of the Giants' latest loss that wide receiver Odell Beckham would have surgery on his injured ankle, but that shifted to pending after the team announced Beckham fractured the ankle in the fourth quarter against the Chargers. He had been limited early this season by a preseason left ankle injury, but after missing Week 1 Beckham delivered 25 receptions for 302 yards and three touchdowns in four games before going down on Sunday. Beckham went down Sunday in the Giants' 27-22 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers.

"I spoke to him after the game", McAdoo said. Sterling Shepard is considered day-to-day with his sprained ankle, and Brandon Marshall will have more tests Monday on his sprained ankle.

Beckham, who had to be carted off the field, was in serious pain and was visibly emotional as he headed to the locker room.

The slew of injuries to the wide receiving corps has also led the Giants to re-sign Tavarres King to the active roster and promote Travis Rudolph from the practice squad.

As far as any long-term effect to Beckham's health, McAdoo said he has not gotten into any of that. "They're well-deserving of opportunities". "Next man up. Hate to see it but it's part of the game". Some Giants fans are hoping the team will bring back Victor Cruz.

The reason to watch the 0-5 Giants is officially out for the year. Neither player returned in the second half.
