George Clooney hopes Weinstein scandal will change society

'Suburbicon' Stars Weigh In On Weinstein Scandal

George Clooney raises a solution to Hollywood abuse scandals

In a Monday morning interview on Good Morning America with Suburbicon costar George Clooney, the two actors criticized the former Miramax cofounder.

The Suburbicon director, noting that wife Amal Clooney has also been subject to harassment in her line of work, encouraged women to continue coming forward and so that men may be warned that "you'll be out of the business, and more than that, you might be prosecuted". "I didn't really necessarily believe that 'cause to believe that would believe bad things about actresses that I know and like, and I didn't really buy into that", Clooney said.

"You just needed to go through five minutes with Harvey Weinstein to know he was a harasser; he was threatening", Matt Damon disclosed to Michael Strahan on Good Morning America at the beginning of today. But this level of criminal sexual predation is not something I ever thought was going on.

Matt Damon is continuing to open up about Harvey Weinstein, and what he did and didn't know about the alleged sexual harasser and assaulter!

His comments come after more than 40 women came forward to accuse Weinstein of sexual harassment or sexual assault, with the allegations spanning decades.

Clooney is one of many actors who have denounced Harvey Weinstein.

"At the point when individuals say "everyone knew" - Yeah, I knew he was a butt hole", Damon proceeded.

"I never talked to Gwyneth about it", he told ABC News.

However, he already knew about Weinstein's sexual harassment of Paltrow by this time.

The Oscar victor was quick to note that it's not just show business where these issues of sexual harassment and assault are taking place. "I knew he was a womanizer".

Damon, who distanced himself from Weinstein earlier this month, said he had heard about the disturbing encounter around the time he and Paltrow were filming 1999′s "The Talented Mr. Ripley". You know? If it can happen to someone as powerful as Harvey, it can happen to anybody. Ben told me. But I knew that they had come to whatever agreement or understanding that they had come to. Reports claimed that the "Bourne Ultimatum" actor killed an incriminating story about Weinstein back in 2004, while actress Rose McGowan, who accused the producer of rape, maintains that Affleck had prior knowledge about his behavior.

Damon, who stars in the film, said these allegations will prompt "massive systemic change". Clooney said it was "infuriating" for him to read stories about reporters who investigated the scandal.

"Social media has been great in the sense that these really courageous women stepped up first and took that chance and made their voices heard", said Damon.
