With the loss of starting quarterback Nick Starkel, the Aggies have.

Kirk had a couple of key drops in the first half on passes from Mond, one of which led to a fake field-goal attempt that was stopped cold by the Cajuns. There were concerns he was injured, but he ran the ball nine times against Nicholls State, majority designed runs, taking direct hits.

COLLEGE STATION - Texas A&M sophomore Tyrel Dodson was still getting adjusted to things when the Aggies played UCLA at the Rose Bowl earlier this month.

TV/radio: SEC Network; 97.5 FM. That's only added more aggravation and frustration to large portions of the Texas A&M fan base.

Texas A&M wide receiver Will Gunnell got into some seriously hot water when he gave his own fans the double bird Saturday as the Aggies walked off the field at halftime.

Ragin' Cajuns update: Quarterback Jordan Davis of Klein Oak has completed 60 percent of his passes (33 of 55) in two games, and is third on the team with 108 rushing yards on 22 carries. That one victory came against A&M 21 years ago in Lafayette, when the town partied for days afterward. But the Aggies struggled in between.

"I wasn't surprised they threw it that much", said Broussard, who served two stints under three head coaches as a Cajuns assistant and later worked six years on the radio broadcast crew.

Defensively, the Aggies have controlled the line of scrimmage in dominating fashion.

"We've had different offensive line combinations", Sumlin said. "If they had done that, run it right at us, we could not have stopped them".

Center Erik McCoy's status is unknown after suffering an apparent leg injury either late against Nicholls or during practice this week.

"I thought it was easier to make in-game adjustments and look your players in the eyes", Smart said. The porous Aggies have allowed 10 sacks in two games, ranking 126th nationally. "He's able to be there with us and just help us more with X's and O's". "We have to keep that communication open with those guys as they play". "Were there things that we improved on? Yes. There were some personnel changes in the fourth quarter (against Nicholls) that will help us down the road". The school formerly known as Southwestern Louisiana is 1-63 all-time against current SEC members.
