'Super Mario Odyssey' Trailer, Release Date, Box Art and Pre-Order

Prior to Nintendo's E3 2017 announcements, reports began to circulate suggesting a Nintendo Switch version of Pokemon Sun and Moon called Pokemon Stars could be one of the company's major reveals and this new announcement is the closest possibility revealed at the event. But little did we know that something was already in the works as they were just saying to be in "an evaluation phase". There could also be some 3DS news in store, but don't expect much, as Nintendo is very committed to the Switch this year. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is coming to Nintendo Switch, Holiday 2017.

Fans of the franchise will note that the game's 3D setup looks more like Mario 64 (my personal favorite in the series) or Mario Sunshine than the other 2D titles. A boss fight against Whispy Woods was shown, so this looks to be a mostly traditional Kirby adventure.

That will run all day today, tomorrow, and Thursday, with the stream starting at 10AM PT/1PM ET on the latter two days.

Don't forget to check out the trailer above too, and stay tuned to the site for all of your other E3 2017 Nintendo conference coverage throughout the day.

The Nintendo Treehouse Live at E3 has just announced that three new Super Mario Odyssey amiibo figures are on the way. The game is schedule for a 2018 release, although an exact date hasn't been given. Xenoblade Chronicles 2 is also something that will likely get a spotlight for the holiday season.

Further joy was also provided by the news that Super Mario Odyssey will be here on October 27.

The Breath of the Wild DLC packs was detailed a bit, and all four guardians will get Amiibos.
