However, the Clooney patriarch wasn't able to say which of his son's features the babies have inherited when asked what they look like.
He told the programme: "They're absolutely handsome. These are two handsome babies". "She was just great".
"George, well, his eyes were glazed so I'm not sure that he was sober", Nick joked.
"She was telling us last week that she is as big as a house", he told Cincinnati WXIX anchor Tricia Macke in a phone interview. "Of course, she's lovely".
"George is sedated and should recover in a few days", they jokingly added. We'll figure that out. "That part's a joke".
"But by golly, when we met Amal, we got that figured out in a hurry".
"They are gorgeous", he said.
George and Amal, who have been married since 2014, confirmed that they were expecting their first children back in February after months of speculation.
Then he quickly corrected himself, saying: "Nina's yelling at me. So we'll leave that one entirely up to them", he said when asked about meeting the newborn.
"My wife would be the one you'd have to talk to as to whose nose looks like grandpa's nose or grandma's nose".
"So that sounds like a grandmother to me".
On the heels of the birth of babies Ella and Alexander on Tuesday, Entertainment Tonight quizzed media mogul and queen OTW (of the world), Oprah Winfrey, on what she'd be gifting the Clooneys' newborns.
He added: "They have dark hair".
He said: 'Both George and Amal are doing wonderfully well.
He went on to call Amal "superwoman" for managing to set up the Skype while still in recovery and said she is doing "terrifically well".
