Draft is next up during NBA's dizzying days of deals

Barring an unforeseen change, Fultz will be the No. 1 pick in the National Basketball Association draft tonight, joining Simmons with the Philadelphia 76ers in an attempt to invigorate a once proud franchise.

Long and athletic forward has drawn comparisons to Brandon Ingram, who the Lakers took with the No. 2 pick past year.

Fultz woke up Saturday to news that the Philadelphia 76ers had moved into the top spot in Thursday's NBA Draft, trading its No. 3 pick and a future first rounder to the Boston Celtics in a move that is projected to land Fultz in Philadelphia.

During a dizzying few days of deals around the National Basketball Association, the presumed No. 1 pick had his Saturday plans — not to mention his future destination — change when the Philadelphia 76ers brought him in for a workout.

INTERNATIONAL INTRIGUE: A year after almost half the draft - a record 27 of the 60 picks - were international players, French guard Frank Ntilikina and Finnish forward Lauri Markkanen, who played a year at Arizona, are two of the top international players. Now based on most mock drafts the two players that fit that bill are either North Carolina State point guard Dennis Smith Jr. or Florida State forward Jonathan Isaac. "I'm just blessed to see that my hard work's paying off and somebody else sees something in me".

During his lone year at Washington, the overmatched Huskies were 9-22 and finished the campaign with 13 consecutive losses (six of which Fultz missed with a sore knee). And while Ball was at his best when he was distributing the ball in the open court, he also averaged 14.6 points and 6.0 rebounds and boasts good size (6-6, 190) at the point.

According to ESPN, point guard Ball had a second workout with Los Angeles this week, attempting to quell any lingering concerns the squad might have.

With the addition of Fultz, they will have legitimate options on the perimeter and in the post with Embiid, who proved last season that he can be a dominant force in the league.

As the draft comes tomorrow, it looks like there is a strong possibility that Josh Jackson will fall out of the top three. "That starts the first time I step on wherever I go". Last year, the Sixers selected Furkan Korkmaz at No. 26. He made just 25 percent of his 3-pointers and attempted fewer than two per game. Smith had a very inconsistent season at N.C. State that could have been because he wasn't fully healthy.

There's no denying that the 19-year-old is a brilliant individual talent. Anybody who knows me, knows I love to win.

There's also a tantalizing worldwide talent in Ntilikina (pronounced Nee-lee-KEE-na), a 6-5 guard playing for Strasbourg in a French pro league.

No one, including Mason himself, is expecting him to climb that high, but the former KU point guard who swept every national player of the year award following his senior season enters his big night with confidence. He has a 7-foot wingspan, while his athleticism and potential are enough to have him as a possible lottery pick with plenty of room to grow his game. There are some that have the point guard as high as 4 or 5 on their draft board.
