Chelsea plan to hijack Manchester United's pursuit of Alvaro Morata

Starsport understands Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata and Torino's Andrea Belotti are also on the Special One's wish list.

The headline on the front page of the paper claims that Manchester United are gearing up to offer Real Madrid €210 million plus Spanish worldwide keeper David De Gea for Cristiano Ronaldo and Alvaro Morata.

Real Madrid were rocked by widespread claims in the media on Friday that Ronaldo wants to leave the Spanish capital in the summer.

Chelsea are reportedly trying to beat Jose Mourinho and Man Utd to the signing of two Real Madrid stars, which could leave the former Blues boss furious.

That has contributed to United's delay in concluding a deal for Morata, with Ronaldo's bombshell forcing them to re-think their summer plans.

After it was reported that Antonio Conte text Diego Costa earlier this month to inform him that he no longer needed his services heading into next season, speculation has been rife as to who will replace the commanding forward. But the Blues have made a late move for the player.

Chelsea have been linked with a move for Everton striker Romelu Lukaku as well, but Conte's preference is thought to be Morata.

The Spain global had been expected to move to Old Trafford next season.

Morata has global teammates at both the clubs and he will have a tough job in choosing a team between the two.

And according to the Mirror, Morata is seen as an ideal replacement.

The 24-year-old told the Guardian in April: "Various Premier League coaches called to tell me to play for them".
