This morning, we may have a clearer answer, again if you go by body language alone.

Trump was walking ahead of Melania along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his wife Sara, when he let out his hand towards his wife in an attempt to hold it.

But the speculation came because of another hand-holding incident.

The interaction unfolded between the couple as they arrived in the country on Trump's first trip overseas as president.

In a way, Melania Trump's countenance embodies the burden of being first lady-a ceremonial role, based largely on appearances, that is hoisted on a woman only because of her relationship to a powerful man.

Melania is now traveling with the president during his administration's first worldwide trip - an eight-day, five-stop trek to Saudi Arabia, Israel, Rome, Brussels, and Sicily.
