Nintendo Switch gets a hardware overview before launch

The Nintendo Switch is nearly here and the company just pushed out a new video to answer all your burning questions about the upcoming console.

"FIFA" game publisher Electronic Arts (EA) has just confirmed that its upcoming "FIFA 18" will be released for the Nintendo Switch. These links leave Siliconera.

If the Switch flops, Nintendo may well decide to withdraw from making TV-connected consoles, but there's no reason to assume that they wouldn't attempt another handheld device. New details are always being revealed, such as games that are coming to the console. Some of them, such as Sword Fight and Wizard seem like fun and akin to the kind of things we'd expect from video games. Who knows, Reggie Fils-Aime may even drop by to give him a high five. Their insistence upon reusing the Wii's brand while showing the GamePad had folks thinking all Nintendo was releasing was a new controller for the Wii. Also: If you have a substantial beard (as you should, it's very manly) then this game will be very hard to play. The game won't be a direct port, instead it will be a version that's custom built for the Nintendo Switch and will make use of the console's social features. You can use various buttons on your Joy-Con to serve up harder hits and out serve your friend.

Whether or not Nintendo will bring VR to their Switch consple remains to be seen and if they do this is not something that will be available at launch next month.

"Certain controllers", eh? Yeah, I can easily see that including Wiimotes and the Wii U Pro Controller for certain games or as a Virtual Console option.
