Katy Perry Previews New Single 'Chained to the Rhythm'

If you want to hear her next single, Chained To The Rhythm, you'll want to grab your earplugs and rush to the disco ball closet to you. There's a headphone plug in each of them, listeners need to bring their own headphones.

Justin Bieber, Drake and Kanye may not find the Grammys important, but Katy Perry does.

In the video, a woman can be seen linked to a glitter ball and chain, wearing perspex high heels and showing off an adorable stripey smiley face on her ankle. "New life who dis", she captioned the Instagram reveal, echoing the sentiments of anyone who's ever deviated from their beauty comfort zone in hopes that it'd change their lives. Presumably off the follow-up to 2013's Prism, the track includes contributions from Skip Marley, a Jamaican singer and the grandson of legend Bob Marley.

Katy Perry has posted a cryptic video teaser online alluding to the fact she is about to drop a new single. The singer announced she would be returning to the Grammys stage this weekend, and she chose to try out a new look as well.

Lots of fans have tweeted us asking us to record the song, but we don't think Katy would've loved that. It's a sure hit for the singer, who's known for her retro-inspired style and smash party hits. It is the first taste of new material since 2016's Rise, the promotional campaign song for the United States' 2016 Olympic team. Fans knew something was happening, and Perry teased on Twitter that something was on its way.
