The organisers of the event argue that the event is necessary to show support for President Muhammadu Buhari whom they say is setting Nigeria on the path of growth. "But we all must cooperate with President Mohammed Buhari and pray for him to succeed in taking the country out of the woods" he urged.
A statement from the presidency indicated that the session was cordial with Buhari congratulating Trump on his election victory late past year.

When President Buhari was leaving Nigeria for the United Kingdom, the official statement on his trip stated that he was going to use the period of his vacation to undergo routine medical checkups.
"The American President has since been putting calls to other world leaders to enunciate his action plans towards the eradication of terrorism in America", read the report.
Mr. Trump assured the Nigerian leader of USA readiness to cut a new deal in helping Nigeria in terms of military weapons to combat terrorism.
He also said the U.S. will continue to support Nigeria in the fight against terrorism by providing military weapons.
But with Trump and Buhari discussing stepping up anti-terrorism cooperation "through provision of necessary equipment", Nigeria may soon be able to count on more USA support.
According to Africa News, Trump was scheduled to speak to Buhari at about 15:45 Nigerian time (09:45 Washington DC time).
