Whatever gamers see in the trailer is likely what they will experience themselves as well, as NieR: Automata has gone gold and new gameplay footage will nearly certainly be featured in the final release at this point.
Square Enix has just released a new NieR: Automata trailer, which does a solid job of showing off both the game's dramatic and action-packed sides.
NieR: Automata will release in North America on March 7, 2017 for PS4, with a PC released scheduled for sometime in 2017. Players take on the role of the android known as 2B, who will work alongside the androids 9S and A2 to fight the mechanical invaders of Earth.
NieR Automata is set in the universe of NieR, a spin-off from the Drakengard series, which is an action role-playing video game series.
In the forsaken wasteland below, the war between the machines and the androids rages on. Adam and Eve may also be one of the last humans on Earth. "Even if it's pointless, you still have to do it", 2B says in the trailer. That said, the futuristic and dilapidated aesthetic essentially serves the action in Automata, but with a female lead character and possibly an interesting tale of machines still serving a human-oriented objective in a world... without them. "The description also hints at "[the] war that could soon unveil a long-forgotten truth of the world". The PC version is rumoured to be in development but we have no information so far on it.
