'Lego Worlds' Releases Next Year on Consoles and PC

Warner Bros. and TT Games have announced today that it's Minecraft-esque LEGO Worlds will be coming to PS4 and Xbox One on February 24th, 2017.

As it is a sandbox game, there's no real set end goal for LEGO Worlds.

LEGO Worlds launched on Steam Early Access back in 2015, and is now ready for release.

"LEGO Worlds brings the very essence of LEGO play - building - to the digital world, more than ever before", added Niels Jørgensen, VP for digital games for LEGO.

The game provides a venue to build imaginative worlds by using digital LEGO bricks where players can explore, create and build together.

Unlike Mojang's famous title, Lego Worlds will have vehicles, should you wish to hop into a spaceship, ride a dragon, cruise around in a auto, or smash through a town in a drilling vessel. "LEGO Worlds enables you to populate your Worlds with many weird and wonderful characters, creatures, models, and driveable vehicles, and then play out your own unique adventures". This will allow them to "engage in co-operative and competitive play experiences that players can build themselves".

LEGO Worlds and Minecraft allow players to build whatever they can think of using virtual blocks, ranging from small tools to massive structures.

Traveller's Tales also announced a DLC pack entitled "Lego Agents", which features various weapons, characters, and vehicles inspired Lego's Agents toy line.

Its sandbox worlds made out of digital Lego bricks, "Lego Worlds" sits on a Very Positive user rating, 81 per cent of almost 8,000 reviews recommending the experience. It is available on PS4 for only days. But after almost a year of Early Access beta testing and development, developer Traveller's Tales (responsible for the LEGO Star Wars series of games and its spinoffs) and publisher Warner Bros. Since it will be released to consoles and PC, the Lego Worlds must be in a much better state now than it was more than a year before.
