Cowboys did not want to take risk by playing Tony Romo

There are rumors that Dak is single, and there are rumors he could be dating Playboy model Dallas Nicole Parks.

So, common perceptions suggest the Cowboys might rest rookie quarterback Dak Prescott for part of Sunday's contest at Lincoln Financial Field.

Will Cowboys fans finally get to see Tony Romo play next week against the Philadelphia Eagles? "If this was the first game of the season, maybe it'd be a little different, but I think we can change game plans within a game plan, depending on [which quarterback] is out there".

The Cowboys' main priority, in a twist, is to make sure Romo stays healthy as the No. 2 for the playoffs.

Prescott took every snap in the Cowboys' 42-21 win over Detroit, which was apparently always the plan ("Dak was going to play this game" Jason Garrett said), and there was value in giving him reps against a postseason-caliber Lions team playing for its life, and who could conceivably end up a playoff opponent for the Cowboys.

Jones has said he does not believe Romo needs a few snaps to shake off the rust after not playing in a regular season game since Thanksgiving a year ago.

"We're just not concerned about him having play time", Jones continued about Romo.

Jones added that he wants Prescott to get more on-field work despite his success this year.

If that's Dallas' reason for not playing their backup, it makes you wonder why they're still leaving all their starters out there, especially when you see Derek Carr and Marcus Mariota get hurt two days earlier. That would lead to Romo, a four-time Pro Bowler recently relegated to a backup role, throwing his first pass of this season. "Not just Prescott, who we've already played once and we have a lot of film on, but [also] Romo, who has a track record, if they play him".

"Look at what Dak Prescott learned tonight", Jones said. "With him being a rookie, we really need all these reps he can get, including any reps we get this week and next week because we want him to be as educated and as well prepared and have as much as experience as he can when we get in the playoffs". Romo, 36, has served as Prescott's backup since, though he has yet to take a snap.
