Cavs' Love hits 34 points in first quarter

Love looks like a real All-Star for the first time since he's been in Cleveland and, while it's early, the Cavs look like they'll be in their third straight NBA Finals after only reaching one NBA Finals series before James returned.

Iman Shumpert hit his 300th career three-pointer, LeBron James moved up to 17th on the NBA's all-time assist list and Kyrie Irving passed Booby Gibson for third in Cavs all-time threes. But it was his performance in the first quarter that set the sports world on notice, as Love made all eight of his 3-pointers and scored 34 of his 40 points in the first 12 minutes.

Love helped Cleveland build a 46-31 lead during that period, outscoring the Blazers by his lonesome. LaMarcus Aldridge finished with 23 points and seven rebounds.

According to Washington Post, Thompson said that it would be cool to belong in a team that can score 150 points in one game.

Love enjoyed major success over his Western Conference career against Dallas - and once again in Cleveland, averaging 22.3 points and 13.3 boards in four meetings as a Cavalier. Thompson went 13-for-13 from the field in his 37-point outburst in the third quarter against the Sacramento Kings on January 23, 2015.

LeBron James recorded his 44th career triple-double with 31 points, 13 assists and 10 rebounds to go along with three steals for Cleveland (11-2), which shot 53 percent from the field and 58 percent from 3-pointers.

Game Highlights: Alex Len had 17 points and 12 rebounds and Eric Bledsoe added 16 points in the visiting Suns' 92-87 victory over the Magic.

The Portland Trail Blazer's Damian Lillard matched Kevin Love in the 40-point department.

"Every game that we start out, the first play of the game's for Kevin", Lue said.

Love's struggles to fit in with the team were most prominent in his first season with the team in 2014-2015 under then-head coach David Blatt. DeMarre Carroll added 20 points on 9-for-14 shooting for Toronto.

Raptors avoided losing three in a row for the first time since last November, and ended a nine-game losing streak in Houston. The previous record was 15, achieved by the Golden State Warriors twice last season.

Thaddeus Young led the Pacers with 24 points and had seven rebounds. Twenty-five of his 40 came in the second half. James had his 44th career triple-double, breaking his tie with Denver Nuggets' legend Fat Lever for sole possession of the sixth-most threes National Basketball Association history.
