Trump's 2005 comments disgust women, but change few opinions

I once walked into a pregame locker room where millionaire athletes were passing around pictures of lovely women, handsome women clad in nothing more than ... tanning oil.

Trump has remained at Trump Tower in the wake of the release of a 2005 video in which he makes lewd remarks about women, meeting with key aides and preparing for the second presidential debate Sunday in St. Louis. I know from my research that confronting male peers is hard for a 14-year-old high school student-athlete who desperately wants his teammates to like and accept him.

In a recent interview with The New York Times, Harth said Trump ran his hands up her skirt during dinner in 1992, and on another occasion, she said Trump tried to force himself on her in his daughter Ivanka's bedroom.

After the news broke Friday afternoon, House Speaker Paul Ryan rescinded Trump's invitation to campaign with him in Wisconsin on Saturday, without rescinding his support.

Cooper: For the record, are you saying that what you said on the bus 11 years ago, that you did not actually kiss women without consent or grope women without consent?

Donald Trump has me thinking about what I like and what I don't like. That being said, we do not tolerate making light of sexual assault or rape. The woman in the video was referred to as a thing - "That's nice", the oglers say.

Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump pauses during a meeting with members of the National Border Patrol Council at Trump Tower, Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, in NY. I just went out on the field and hit people, devoutly hoping my teammates would JUST SHUT UP. Men have a responsibility to stop reinforcing those beliefs among themselves. If Trump becomes president, I have no doubt sexual assaults would rise, or at least attitudes toward them would become even more flippant.

To that, Alice Stewart, a former spokeswoman for Texas Sen.

"What [Trump] is saying, justifying what he said or did as 'common in locker rooms, ' I reject that", veteran Windsor High boys basketball coach Ken Smith said. "Even so, an attempt at remorse couldn't hurt".

I have known Trumps far too long - they are my friends, my fraternity brothers and so many other men with whom I routinely interact.

Even a former Trump advisor, Barry Bennett, said he thinks Trump's only shot at redemption - and a slim one at that - is a dramatic and public mea culpa.
