Deadline for mail-in voter registration is Tuesday

Since the U.S. Postal Service is not open for business on Sunday or Columbus Day, the deadline to register to vote by mail-in application must be extended to the next business day, which is Tuesday.

Tuesday also is the last day that people can submit voter-registration forms by mail for the November 8 election.

The last day to request an early ballot be sent to you by mail is October 28.

If you're not sure if you're registered to vote, check online by name, driver's license number or PennDOT ID at the Department of State.

Arizonans have until 11:59 p.m. on Monday to register to vote or update their registration for the General Election. Voters from any precinct in the county may cast a ballot or drop off a mail-in ballot at the centers. And some will vote in local elections to settle issues including whether the Texas Rangers get a new ballpark and whether alcohol may be sold in some cities.

Anyone 18 or older can register by mail or in person at their county, city or township clerk's office or by visiting any Secretary of State branch. The County Election Board must mail the ballots to the voter and the voter must return the voted ballots by mail.
