With Dark Souls 3's first proper chunk of DLC preparing to stomp you into the ground all over again, Bandai Namco and From Software have released a new trailer, showcasing the PvP battles you'll engage in once the Ashes of Ariandel expansion drops later this month.
I'm guessing they were looking to avoid that by commissioning a brand new song for this Dark Souls 3 "Ashes of Ariandel" PVP trailer, as "Ain't No Devil" as performed by Andrea Wasse, Morgan A. Dorr, and Timothy Blake Healy can not be found elsewhere.
Of course there might be other options beyond 3v3, but that's what's shown in the video. Multiplayer aside, the DLC will also bring with it 15 new weapons, 4 new armor sets, 4 New Sorceries, Miracles, Pyromancies, and 2 brand new Bosses.
The new PvP map, reportedly called Hollow Arena, is more than just a flat battleground in which players can square off.
Of course, it wouldn't be a proper Dark Souls expansion without never-before-encountered boss fights, and From Software has included some odd foes indeed.
Some of my fondest memories in Dark Souls III were made while mucking about as a member of the Mound Makers, the game's wild-card, "When are they going to betray me?" covenant. Bearing that in mind, those fans of the franchise who don't mind the forthcoming materials being spoiled can get a glimpse of the big baddies to come in this gameplay trailer. It's time to fight, Ashen Ones.
Dark Souls 3's Ashes of Ariandel is coming out on 25 October.
