Jayalalithaa is interacting and gradually progressing, Apollo Hospitals, where she is admitted, said on Friday.

After visiting the Chief Minister in her hospital room and asking after her health, Rao told the media that the AIADMK leader was getting better. However, she continues to be under treatment and observation, the hospital release had said.

The medical bulletin's disclosure that she was "interacting" becomes significant amid reports suggesting that she was on ventilator.

Senior cardiologists, experts in critical care, senior respiratory physicians, other consultants, senior endocrinologists and diabetologists are monitoring Amma in the hospital 24×7, said that statement. "It is one more publicity interest litigation", the court said. However, the doctors said that treatment will be given to Amma for only few days as she is fast recovering. It added that she would return home soon. "We have been putting her off the support for, say, an hour to see how she copes. She is improving well".

A specialist from London besides three-member team of doctors from AIIMS, Delhi, had also examined Jayalalithaa, who is being treated for infection with respiratory support.

This is the governor's second visit to the hospital.

Meanwhile, party workers and supporters of Jayalalithaa continued holding special prayers in temples, churches and mosques across the state, wishing for Jaya's speedy recovery.
