VMA 2016: Beyoncé brought Lemonade to the VMAs. She destroyed the show

Beyoncé took her daughter Blue Ivy as her date to the MTV Video Music Awards (VMAs) on Sunday (08.28.16) night.

Her hair and makeup was absolutely ideal - we expect nothing less from the star!

Just hours before the 2016 VMAs kicked off, MTV confirmed that Beyoncé would hit the stage for a performance.

Blue didn't look super comfortable with all the commotion, and Beyoncé walked Blue off the carpet before she came back out for more pictures alone. "Violets are blue. Beyoncé and Blue are better than you", while another opined: "Beyoncé and Blue Ivy are the cutest mother-daughter duo...the Vma red carpet pics are adorable".

The performance then transitioned into "Hold Up" and "Sorry" - brutally honest songs that talk about her husband's alleged affair, showcasing a snarling, more ferocious side to Bey.

Queen Bey, who leads the pack of nominees with a career-high 11 nominations at tonight's show, made a major splash when she brought her toddler as her date, both rocking some major couture. She also added extra flair in her braided hair with a princess-worthy bejeweled headpiece.

While she was not in the mood for posing, little Blue made everyone stop in their tracks in a glittery top with layered tulle train.
